Motivations

· Automated liver segmentation methods frequently fail to deliver good segmentation results, especially in case of diseased livers. For clinical application, liver segmentation must be capable of handling all possible cases in a time-efficient manner.


·Liver Diseases are considered from chronic disease, which has spread dramatically recently, especially in the middle age people, which is the mainstay of the national economy, which negatively affect the overall outcome.


·It is stated that the total number of patients with liver disease in Egypt, accounting for 12% of the census and increase the rate in rural regions than cities, it is clear the seriousness of this disease and its devastating effect.

Problem

Liver segmentation is an important prerequisite for planning of surgical interventions like liver tumor resections. The resection of tumors from the liver is a difficult and risky surgical intervention, even for experienced surgeons. The goal of computer assisted preoperative planning is the exact localization of the tumor in relation to the surrounding vascular network. In diagnostic purpose physician can make better result for detect what action required for this patient either cure or surgical.
